The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has accused the opposition All Progressives Congress of having no plan to carry out its governorship campaign in the state.

The State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Bemgba Iortyom, in a statement made available to journalists in Makurdi, alleged that the APC had only over the years remained negative play of politics as an opposition party.

Iortyom made the accusations in reply to a recent press conference by the APC during which the party leaders blamed the PDP led government for maladministration of the state.

APC chairman in the state, Comrade Austin Agada, who spoke at the press conference on behalf of the party leaders, alleged that there were moles in its membership who have become willing tools and agents of the opposition to destabilise the party.

The PDP therefore responded that, “We are aware APC in Benue is in extremely pathetic state of ill health and even on life-support, with the recent voiding by the Appeal Court of its governorship primaries and the likelihood of it not even fielding a governorship candidate for the 2023 elections;

“We are aware the opposition party up to this moment does not have even a plan to carry out campaigns in Benue State for the coming polls, having they neither the human nor material resources to do so, and will be relying on another hope of a fabled “federal might” intervention from Abuja to award to them victory.”
