Horror! Unknown assailants kill octogenarian màn in Kwara,,,,, police commence investigation

The Police Command in Kwara state says it has commenced investigation into the circumstances that led to the brutal murder of an 80-year-old man, Pa James Ajayi in Ilorin, by yet to be identified assailants.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police Command in the state, SP.Okasanmi Ajayi, disclosed this to the the Correspondent of The Reporters in a telephone interview from Ilorin on Thursday.

According to him, the command is aware of the case and has detailed its men to commence immediate investigation,to unravel the circumstances that led to the dead of the deceased.

“We want to unravel the mystery behind his death, because his son.said he was murdered in his house.

“The son said he left him in the living room, left the door unlocked and went out and that by the time he came to the room, he discovered that the man has been killed. We are trying to see what went under,” he said.

Our Correspondent gathered that, Pa James Ajayi, popularly called Baba Ajayi, was allegedly murdered alone between 6 p m and 7 p.m on Monday at his house at Gbagede area of Amoyo town, a distance of 15 kilometers drive from Ilorin,the state capital.

One of his sons, Samson Ajayi, said to be keeping him company in the house went out and on return, met his father’s almost lifeless body in the house with pool of blood, immediately raise alarm which prompted the deceased being rushed to some hospitals in the area.

Sources said the deceased was confirmed dead by medical doctors at the last hospital where he was rushed to, having been strangulated in the neck and showed sign of deep cut in one of his hand.
