He described the late Ikere-Ekiti born lawyer as an Omoluabi, who is humble, gentle and easy going, as well as an astute politician who served Ekiti meritoriously in various positions, thereby leaving behind a good legacy.

The Ikoro-Ekiti born entrepreneur also expressed his condolence to the deceased’s wife, children and family members and prayed God should comfort them and the fortitude to bear the loss, and protect the entire family he left behind.

“The death of Hon Funminiyi Afuye was shocking, a one time Commissioner in the State, and two time member of the State Assembly.

“Ekitis, Ikere-Ekiti people and particularly his immediate constitiency, the house of assembly will surely miss his political experience and elderly dispositions to affairs. May God rest his soul eternally,”Ojo said.

In a related development, former Ekiti State governor and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Segun Oni, has described the death of the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Funmi Afuye as a rude shock, devastating and colossal loss to Ekiti people.
