Natasha rescues flood victims in kogi

As the bclarion call for relief materials to cushion effect of flood on victims in kogi state heightenes, the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Kogi Central, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, has come to the rescue of flood victims in the state with the donation of some life-saving kits.

Our Correspondent gathered that the kits were presented to the Flood Management Committee through Divisional Police Officer, Ganaja and Chairman, Flying Boat Association of the affected areas.

According to Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, popularly known as the peoples amazon and philanthropist, the donations were part of collaborative effort to manage the devastating flood ravaging Lokoja, the State capital, and Ganaja Village in Ajaokuta local government area as well as a host of other communities in the state.

During the presentation of the items, which include sleeveless inflatable jackets, the Director-General of the Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Campaign Organization, Hon. Abdulrahaman Badamsuiy, alongside with the PDP House of Assembly Candidates for Ajaokuta and Okene I, Alhaji Haruna Ganaja and Hon. Yakubu Azamare respectively, commended the efforts of the flood committee and assured the victims of more interventions.

The Flood Management Committee, through the Flying Boat Association Head,in response thanked Natasha for the gesture and concern shown to the people in their trying time and prayed to God to make her dream become to a reality.

Our Correspondent reports that the flood, which affected nine of the 21 local government areas of the state, has so far claimed six lives in known record, destroyed over 600 farmlands and rendered thousands of persons homeless with Ibaji Local Governnent Area most hit.

The natural disaster has covered some roads in Lokoja, renders many commuters stranded,prompting the use of boat, causing scarcity of fuel among other odds in Lokoja and its environs, including Lokoja-Abuja highway.
