By Tinu Ajiboye.

The Chairman of a Pressure Group, SOWENON lnitiative, Dr Sam Jenfa, has lambasted a former APC presidential aspirant, Malam Adamu Garba, over statement that Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Hon. Minister of Transportation, was out to blackmail Nigerians in his recent comment on Abuja-Kaduna rail bandits attacks.

Dr Jenfa, in a strong worded statement to newsmen from his London office, described Mr Garba’s comment as unnecessary, provocative and a mere distraction.

He said that Right Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is not used to making frivolous statement or raising false alarm for the fun of it, adding that he is always conscious of every word he muttered.

” What Amaechi said within the context of purported statement was that he had envisaged this kind of terrorists attack and as well applied for fund to procure all necessary security equipment to prevent this ugly incident, yet his colleagues did not see the need to urgently attend to the request”

Dr Jenfa explained that the statement is clear and unambiguous enough in view of the situation on ground.

“His statement did not in anyway indict anyone or capable of blackmailing any Nigerian”, the statement added.

According to him, “we wish to let Mallam Adamu Garba and other Nigerians know that the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is one of the conscientious, courageous, energetic and hard- working Ministers in the present cabinet of Buhari administration, who is not given to unguarded statements.

His vision and mission is to ensure safe and smooth trips for all Nigerians using the rail system and road network in Nigeria and he is vigorously working towards achieving this goal.

“The least expected from Mallam Garba and others in his shoes should be words of encouragement to spur on the Hon. Minister to do more and leave a legacy in the rail and other forms of Transportation system in Nigeria.

Hon. Rotimi Amaechi as a Minister of Transportation in Nigeria is an achiever and a star performer whose records are available to verify.

Dr Jenfa appealed to the Bandits to refrain from destroying the nation’s infrastructure and embrace dialogue to resolve whatever grievances against the country and leaders.
