How to curb crime during,after yuletide in kwara– NSCDC Commandant

The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC), Iskilu Ayinla Makinde,has appealed to the various transport unions in the State to join hand with the security agencies to
reduce curb crimes and criminal elements, before, during and after the festive period to the barest minimum.

Makinde stated the appeal in a statement made available to The Reporters by after a stakeholders’ meeting at the Command’s headquarters in Ilorin.

The Commandant,represented by the Command’s head of the Crisis Management Department of the command, Odeniran Esther Iyabo, also called on the transport unions representatives to close ranks with the security agencies in the area of intelligence gathering, detection of the movement of arms and ammunition and movement of illicit as well as hard drugs among other incriminating items.

” The Commandant wants the transport unions to work together with the NSCDC and other security agencies in order to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the State, we believe their total supports will go a long way in achieving our aims and objectives” Babawale qouted his boss.

He also qouted the Commandant as appealing to the unions to ensure that their vehicles, tricycles and Okada were good condition and road worthy in order to ensure safety of the drivers, passengers and other road users before, during and after the yuletide.

Among the representatives of the unions that attended the meeting were: the National Union of Road Transport Workers( NURTW), Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria ( RTEAN), and Tricycle Operators Association of Nigeria( TOAN).
