2 blood brothers allegedly rape cousin

The Police Command in Enugu State has arrested two blood brothers for alleged rape of their 9-year-old girl, described as their cousin in Enugu State.

The suspects:Chima Nnamani and Michael Nnamani, who live in Akpawfu community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state were said to have committed the offence on November 28,2021 are now cooling it off in police net for alleged serially raping a nine-year-old minor.

The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for police command in the state, Daniel Ndukwe,who confirmed the case, said on Saturday that the “Case-file and suspects in the case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Enugu,for conclusive investigation.

Meanwhile,the Founder and Executive Director, Women Aid Collective (WACOL),an NGO, Joy Ezeilo, has urged immediate prosecution of the suspects.

Ms Ezeilo, in a statement, said that “On Nov. 28, 2021, WACOL received a case of defilement of a nine-year-old girl by two brothers from the same biological parents: Chima Nnamani and Michael Nnamani, from Akpawfu community.”

According to Ezeilo,the victim, while narrating her ordeal in the hands of the two accused, described the act as heinous act against her started immediately she arrived to live with them in their place of abode, adding such act continue on a daily basis, especially in the morning hours.

“She stated that she often bled profusely afterwards, yet no one offered her any help or treatment,”Ezeilo added.

According to Merriam webster dictionary, tape is an unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse, carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against a person’s will.

The dictionary adds that such act can also be done with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent because of mental illness, mental deficiency, intoxication, unconsciousness, or deception.
