HON. SHABA IBRAHIM’S ACHIEVEMENTS As Member,House Of Representatives

The member, House of Representatives, Kogi/Kotonkarfe Federal Constituency of Kogi state, Hon.Shaba Ibrahim, on Saturday, gathered members of his Constituency the Nigeria Union Journalists (NUJ), Lokoja Press Centre, Lokoja to roll out his achievements in the past two years of his election into the green chamber.

His text during a press conference he held in Lokoja to mark the event.

According to him,he moved several motions and also contributed meaningfully in the National Assembly. Notable among them are as follows.

1. Motion on urgent need to address incessant kidnapping in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

2. Motion on urgent public importance for intervention in communities ravaged by flood and disaster in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

3. Motion on urgent need to provide pedestrian bridge at the front of Kogi State Polytechnic on the popular Abuja-Lokoja highway.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Information Technology: website development and desktop training for youths in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency of Kogi State. Incentives shared include laptops and N20,000 grant to each participant.

2. Admission into Kogi State Polytechnic was secured and scholarships paid for indigent students.

3. Cultural sensitization and quiz for junior Secondary Schools in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, participants were drawn from 20 schools from the Constituency and winners received prices.

4. Distribution of palliatives to cushion effect of Covid-19 during lockdown.

5. Distribution of Covid-19 sensitization flyers, sanitizers, liquid soap and water buckets to mosques, churches and schools in Lokoja/Kogi Local Government Areas.

6. Enhanced security by donating motorcycles to vigilante in Kogi LGA to help combat armed robbery, kidnapping and banditry along Lokoja-Abuja road.

7. Payment of hospital bills for surgery patients at Federal Medical Center, Lokoja.

8. Payment of hospital bills for victims of Akpogun tanker explosion.

9. Disaster Assessment visit and donation of food and cash to communities ravaged by flood in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.

10. Distribution of grinding machines to widows in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.

11. Distribution of irrigation water pumps to farmers in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.

12. Sponsored free eye treatment, distribution of eye glasses and major surgery in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.

13. Distribution of motorcycles in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.

14. Construction of solar- powered boreholes in Lokoja LGA Karara, Banda and Felele, Kogi LGA Omoko, Chikara and Koton-karfe. Karara, Banda and Felele are at 100% completion, which Chikara, Omoko and Koton-karfe will be completed this week as work has already commenced.

15. Construction/Furniture of a block of 3 classrooms in Ataji, Lokoja LGA.

16. Supply of learning materials to the pupils in Ataji primary school, LGA.

17. Distribution of Solar powered street lights in Abugi, Mami and environs.

18. Training of women and youths in soap making, and a cash grant of N20,000 was given to each participant.

19. Sensitization program on effect of child labor in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, each participant was handed N15,000.

20. Hon. SHABA Ibrahim graciously cleared bush parts along Koton-karfe -Abuja road, spots that serves as kidnappers hideout.

21. Provision of boreholes in Adankolo community, Lokongoma, Anguwa Tivi, Amorley area, Cantonment, kpatan koto, Sarkinnoma, Agbaja in Lokoja LGA. Aduho ganagana, Wuro maugo and Bassa village in Kogi LGA

22. Provision of over 150 laptops to secondary school in Kotonkarfi
