The Acting General Manager,FCT Water Board, Dame Joy Okoro, says the management of the board has subjected the water in Usman Dam to laboratory test and found that it has no cholera.

She stated this in Abuja on Saturday at the FCT Water Board Customer Care Forum, aimed at ensuring optimum Services to the people.

According to her, the clarification becomes imperative to clear the air on the recent outbreak of the dreadful disease which has claimed many lives.

The Acting General Manager commended the participants for their active contributions which the Area Managers and the management contributed in improving the services of the board.

Dame Okoro urged them to never relent but continuously improve their services for the benefit of customers and subscribers.

She argued that since many of the customers of the board were civil servants, it made it difficult for the bills to be settled, once accumulated.

“I assure you that the monthly distribution of bills will be outrightly attended to in order to avoid debt accumulation,” she, however, promised.

Our Correspondent reports that the forum provided opportunity for customers to relate with the management and staff of board and air their diverse complaints and opinions before the management for proper review and resolutions.

Among the complaints are: non- reflection of payments made by customers, outrageous billing, low water pressure, non- functional meters among others.

Our Correspondent further reports that due to the persistent non-reflection of payments made by the customers, the management has set up various platforms whereby bills can be settled.

Highlights at the occasion were the possible solutions arrived at the session to address the concurrent problems.

The customers also appreciated the “wonderful works” the management has been doing, which they described as worthy of emulation by other parastatals and agencies.
