Niger state government says it has sacked a medical doctor, 5 accountants and 758 othercivil servants, following their indictment in fraudulent activities and violation of extant rules.
The Chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Galadima, who disclosed this to journalists in Minna also said that 5,258 civil servants had been retired in the past three years.
He said:“We discovered that 46 personnel violated the extant rules and after thorough investigations,
“We dismissed them. Among them are; Medical Doctor, 5 accountants, 31 Pensions Board staff, 2 Health workers and 4 ICT Personnel”.
“Three hundred and eighty (380) civil servants were forcefully retired due to their involvement in fraudulent acts of alteration of date of birth or their first appointments.
“Three hundred and twenty eight personnel were also dismissed over Certificate racketeering after the commission undertook a forensic examination of all certificates they pledged during interview and the institutions they purported to have attended declared their claims as forgeries.
“Since the year 2018, a total of 5, 258 civil servants who have completed the mandatory 35 years of Service or have attained 60; years have retired voluntarily”.
He, however, said plans were on to undertake massive recruitment, adding, “the Commission will employ 2, 000 graduates and redeploy skilled workers who are in wrong Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to their respectful fields.
“A total of 1,133 people have been screened and employed into critical areas of the state,including; Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and the State Fire Service, the Commission chairman said.
