As the good people of Anambra State look forward to the next governorship election in the State next year, a lot of political watchers who are well gounded with the affairs of the State have fingered Mr Godwin Ezeemo as unarguably, the best choice for the top job at the government house in Agu Awka.
Mr Ezeemo, an International businessman and a philanthropist in the magnitude of heavy rain, is seeking the mandate of Ndi Anambra to serve them as governor under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and political watchers are of the opinion that Ezeemo, as a PDP governor at the Government House, Awka will manifest a Super Anambra State.
Dr Ejike Nwangwu, a University lecturer who knows the politics of the of the Nation State quite well is of the opinion that PDP is as good as coasting home to victory, if Ezeemo, the Chairman/CEO Orient Group of Companies is chosen as the flag bearer of the party.
The erudite academic based his observation on the fact that Ezeemo, the chairman,the Orient Group companies,has all it takes to win the election for the party.
The lecturer said: “Let’s first of all look at the parties, I so strongly believe that PDP is the best choice when we talk about the political parties ahead of the election
“Fortunately, PDP is strong enough to be victorious and all that the party needs to win and get back to the Government House in Awka is a good candidate like Ezeemo who has made name with strong track record of practical experience on how to move Anambra forward.”
Another political watcher and Onitsha-based businessman, Chief Tobechi Adimora, puts it this way. “With due respect to other aspirants under PDP because all of them are good and well qualified to be governor, but I look at Ezeemo as what PDP needs at this point in time because Ndi Anambra need someone like him with the capacity to develop the State in most critical area of creating jobs”
Chief Adimora also is of the view that going by what Ezeemo has achieved as a businessman who has created thousands of jobs in agriculture, hospitality and manufacturing among other sectors of the economy, he has everything needed in a governor to rekindle the kind of good governance left behind by former governor Peter Obi to take Anambra where it should be.
“So what I am saying is that, PDP + Ezeemo = A Super Anambra State. Let me thus use this medium to tell the leadership of PDP in Anambra to shine their eyes toward Ezeemo, because with him, the party is going to come out victorious at the polls” he added
