In a message steeped in warmth, gratitude, and deep maternal reverence, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has paid glowing tribute to mothers across the country, describing them as the silent architects of the nation’s future and the enduring heartbeat of every home.

Marking the 2026 Mother’s Day celebration, the First Lady, in a statement she signed and a copy available to The Reporters on Sunday, reflected not only on the monumental sacrifices mothers make, but also on the tender, often unnoticed moments that truly define motherhood.

The First lady identified such moments as the sleepless nights, whispered prayers, comforting embraces, and patient guidance that shape children into responsible adults.

She noted that while grand gestures are admirable, it is these quiet acts of love that leave the deepest imprint on families and society.

Describing mothers as heroes whose contributions rarely make headlines yet sustain the nation, Mrs.Tinubu praised their resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

According to her, every thriving community is rooted in the nurturing hands of mothers who mould character, instill values, and hold families together even in the face of hardship.

The First Lady called on Nigerian mothers to continue their sacred role as custodians of wisdom and moral guidance.

She urged them to keep teaching, mentoring, and strengthening the younger generation, emphasizing that the lessons passed from mother to child today will determine the stability, unity, and prosperity of tomorrow’s Nigeria.

She expressed hope that mothers would live long to witness the rewards of their lifelong devotion, celebrating not only their children’s successes but also the joy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward their legacy of love and strength.

The First lady extended warm Mother’s Day wishes to all Nigerian mothers, assuring them that their sacrifices are seen, their love is cherished, and their impact will echo through generations yet unborn.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, the nation’s first teachers, quiet warriors, and everlasting source of hope, she added.
