Alleged Undeclared Accounts: John Tsoho Signals Readiness to Face Code of Conduct Bureau Probe

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has expressed readiness to appear before the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) over allegations that he failed to declare certain bank accounts in his asset declaration form.

In a statement issued on Monday by the FHC Director of Information, Dr Catherine Christopher, the Chief Judge affirmed his commitment to honouring the Bureau’s invitation once his counsel, Chief Kanu Godwin Agabi, SAN, concludes his medical treatment abroad.

“The Federal High Court of Nigeria wishes to clarify that the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, remains fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau in respect of its invitation,” the statement read.

It noted that in line with his constitutional right to legal representation, Agabi, who is currently outside the country for medical reasons, has indicated his readiness to accompany the Chief Judge to the Bureau upon his return to Nigeria.

According to the statement, the Bureau has been formally informed that any date within the week commencing Monday, March 16, 2026, would be convenient for both the Chief Judge and his counsel.

“The Honourable Chief Judge reiterates his commitment to due process, transparency, and respect for the rule of law,” the statement added.

Our correspondent reports that the CCB’s invitation followed a report by Premium Times alleging that Justice Tsoho failed to declare several bank accounts in his asset declaration form, contrary to the provisions of the country’s Code of Conduct law.
