The Kogi State Branch of the Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria has joined millions of Muslims across the country and in the diaspora to mourn the passing of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a revered patriarch and one of Nigeria’s most respected Islamic scholars.
In a condolence message signed by the Council Secretariat in Lokoja, the Council expressed deep sorrow over the “inevitable demise” of the eminent scholar, noting that his death is a monumental loss to the Muslim Ummah and the entire nation.
The Council commiserated with the late Sheikh’s immediate family members, praying for divine comfort and strength for them during this difficult period.
It also extended heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Bala Muhammad, members of his cabinet, the Sheikh’s relatives, friends, colleagues, admirers, and the good people of Bauchi State.
Describing Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as an irreplaceable figure whose teachings and spiritual guidance touched countless lives, the Council prayed to Almighty Allah to shower His mercy upon the departed scholar, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
The statement affirmed that the Council will continue to remember him, along with all deceased Muslims, in its prayers, asking Allah to grant the Ummah the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
“May his gentle soul rest in the bliss of Jannat Firdaus, ameen thumma ameen,” the Council prayed.
