Kogi Police Commissioner Intensifies Statewide Patrols, Engages Communities to Reinforce Safety

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, has intensified security patrols across Lokoja metropolis as part of sustained efforts to strengthen safety and reassure residents of the Command’s readiness to protect lives and property.

Kogi State Police Command,disclosed this in a statement he signed and copied The Reporters in Lokoja on Wednesday.

According to him,on Tuesday, the CP personally led patrol teams to several communities and strategic locations, including Adankolo, Zango, Crusher, Felele, major secondary schools, and the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

“The visit formed part of ongoing confidence-building engagements aimed at deepening trust between the Police and the public.

“During his interactions with community leaders, school management, and students, CP Kankarofi reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that criminal elements do not find space to operate within the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security agencies.

“To strengthen response capability, additional security assets were deployed to sensitive locations within Lokoja, enhancing visibility and deterrence. The CP also shared his personal contact number and the Police Command’s emergency hotline, emphasizing prompt communication in reporting suspicious activities.

“Communities visited expressed appreciation for the Police visibility and proactive measures. They pledged greater cooperation and promised to provide credible information that would help security agencies maintain peace across the state.

“The Commissioner assured that the Command would continue to prioritize public safety, deepen community policing, and sustain strategic engagements that foster mutual trust,” CSP Aya, who gave Emergency Number of 07038329084,to members of the public,said.

Our correspondent recalls that the Police Commissioner had earlier dismissed the rumoured bandit attack in Kogi State,and urged residents to disregard the unverified information circulating on social media and go about their normal activities.
