Zulum Declares Statewide Fasting, Prayer to Tackle Escalating Insecurity in Borno Monday

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has announced a statewide day of fasting and prayer as part of efforts to address the persistent insecurity in the North-East.

The governor made the declaration in a broadcast on Saturday, in Maiduguri,stating that the spiritual exercise is aimed at seeking God’s guidance amid the rising wave of attacks in the state.

“As a people of faith, our security strategies must be underpinned by prayer. I hereby declare Monday, 24th November 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the entire country,” Zulum said.

He called on all residents, irrespective of religious affiliation, to unite in prayer for lasting peace and prosperity.

The governor expressed confidence that “collective prayer and fasting can strengthen communal faith and bring relief to the state.”
