Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered a major drug syndicate operating across Lagos State, raiding multiple locations where illicit substances were being produced, packaged, and distributed.
The first major breakthrough came on Thursday, October 30, 2025, when NDLEA operatives stormed a residential building at Ajao Estate, Isolo, discovering a fully equipped clandestine laboratory used for the production of “Colos,” a synthetic and highly potent variant of cannabis.
According to the agency,during the operation, a 30-year-old suspect, Stephen Kelechi Imoh, was arrested.
Recovered items include; 16.2 kilograms of freshly cooked Colos, 1.7 kilograms of ADB-CHMNACA Cannabinol, 4.5 kilograms of potassium carbonate, and 91 litres of dibromobutane, alongside other precursor chemicals used in the illicit process.
According to the NDLEA, the discovery followed months of intensive intelligence gathering, after locally produced consignments of Colos were intercepted in March and May 2025, confirming that production had shifted from importation to local manufacture within Nigeria.
In a related operation on Saturday, November 1, 2025, NDLEA operatives raided the Mushin, Lagos hideout of a notorious drug dealer, Afeez Salisu, also known as Malu.
The raid led to the seizure of 16 compressed blocks of Ghana Loud, as well as designer sachets and bottles of Colorado, weighing a total of 16.4 kilograms.
That same day, a 20-year-old music artist, Godspower George Osahenrumwen, popularly known as Steady Boy, was arrested at Bougain Villa, Primewater Gardens 2, Lekki, while attempting to receive a large consignment of Loud cannabis concealed in three cartons of bathtubs shipped from New York, United States.
The shipment, which arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, on October 28, contained 140 bags of Loud weighing 77.2 kilograms. NDLEA identified Steady Boy’s manager, Zion Osazee Omigie, also known as Zee Money, as the leader of the syndicate. He is currently on the run.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism and resilience, the NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance stance against drug trafficking and production.
He emphasized that all assets and proceeds linked to such criminal enterprises will be traced and forfeited to the Federal Government, warning that “the NDLEA will not relent until every drug syndicate is dismantled.”
