The 2025 Oke/Igilaofifi Festival in Magongo took on an extra layer of joy and inspiration as children and teenage girls received donations totaling ₦150,000 from an anonymous benefactor.
The gesture, delivered through Mr. Michael Balogun, was described as a remarkable act of kindness that uplifted the community spirit during the annual cultural celebration.
While presenting the gift, Mr. Balogun commended the recipients for volunteering their time and helping to sustain Magongo’s rich cultural heritage.
He noted that such gestures encourage a sense of unity, spread happiness, and motivate young people to embrace community values.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Michael Beatrice Oseka expressed heartfelt appreciation, describing the donation as “an amazing gift” that had left the children and teenagers overwhelmed with gratitude. “Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. You have made a difference in our lives,” she said.
In his remarks, the President of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), Prince. Akpata Jordan Alaba, praised the anonymous donor for the trust and confidence reposed in the community.
He noted that the contribution would make a significant difference in the lives of the young recipients, serving as both motivation and encouragement.
“This gesture is a true source of hope and inspiration,” he added.
