The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has mourned the passing of two prominent figures in Ekiti State ,His Royal Highness, the Alarà of Aramoko-Ekiti, Oba Abdul Azeez Olu Adeyemi, and Honourable Remi Badmus, a respected politician and community leader.
In a statement jointly signed by MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and Executive Secretary/CEO, Professor Muslih Tayo Yahya,in Aramoko.on Monday,the organisation described both men as pillars of service whose legacies would endure in the hearts of those they served.
Our correspondent reports that Oba Abdul Azeez Olu Adeyemi was a revered traditional ruler and former President of the Ekiti State Council for Islamic Affairs.
He was celebrated for his wisdom, dedication to peace, and commitment to unity in Aramoko and across Ekiti State.
His reign, MUSWEN noted, was marked by selfless service and a relentless drive for community progress.
Hon. (Alhaji) Remi Badmus, a retired secondary school principal and former Deputy President of the Ekiti State Council for Islamic Affairs, was praised for his integrity, compassion, and devotion to public service.
He also served as a politician known for championing the welfare of his constituents.
The late monarch and politician were both indigenes of Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where they played significant roles in religious, social, and political development. Their deaths were confirmed in Ekiti State, though MUSWEN did not disclose the exact dates.
“The contributions of the two to the Muslim Ummah, their communities, and the broader society will remain etched in our hearts,” MUSWEN stated, recalling their roles in advancing the cause of Islam and community welfare.
The umbrella Muslim body extended its condolences to their families, the people of Aramoko, the Muslim Ummah of Ekiti State, and all who were touched by their lives and prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings, grant them Al-Jannah Firdaus, and comfort their loved ones in this time of grief.
