The High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, has fixed July 24, 2025, for hearing a divorce suit filed by Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ojo Olorunleke, against his wife, Tosin Ojo. The football star is seeking the dissolution of their nine-year marriage on grounds of irreconcilable differences.
Our correspondent gathered that Olorunleke and Tosin, who got married in 2016, have two sons together.
However, the union has reportedly been under strain for over a year, culminating in the goalkeeper’s decision to formally initiate divorce proceedings.
Sources close to the family revealed that tensions escalated following rumours of Olorunleke’s relationship with an Abuja-based woman, identified as Precious Daniel.
The situation reportedly worsened after the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, where Olorunleke was part of Nigeria’s squad.
Precious is alleged to have shared photos and videos on social media capturing personal moments with the footballer, a development that deepened the cracks in the marriage.
Following a confrontation, Olorunleke is said to have admitted to the relationship but refused to end it, despite repeated pleas from his wife.
Tosin Ojo reportedly expressed her willingness to reconcile, on the condition that the extramarital affair be discontinued but Olorunleke opted for a permanent separation and proceeded to file for divorce.
Source add thet the two have been seen together at various public events in Abuja, with some sources claiming they now live together.
There is speculation that the footballer may formalize the new relationship after the divorce is concluded.
Ojo Olorunleke has played for several top clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League, including Giwa FC (now defunct), Sunshine Stars, Abia Warriors, and Akwa United. He joined Enyimba in 2021 and left in 2024 for brief stints with two foreign clubs, both of which reportedly ended abruptly.
