The funeral rites of the late Mrs. Adeline Kehinde Talatu Koleoso, fondly known as AKT, begin on Thursday ,marking the final journey of a woman whose life was dedicated to education, music, and service to humanity.
Mrs. AKT Koleoso, aged 71, was a respected former Secretary of the Kogi State Primary Education Board, Lokoja.
She retired in 2012 as a Special Director after decades of meritorious service.
Beyond her career in education, she served faithfully as the Music Director of the United Missionary Church of Africa (UMCA) Headquarters, Lokoja, for 30 years, a role she relinquished in 2023.
She passed away peacefully on Easter Monday 2025.
Sources from the family of the deceased indicate that a Christian wake in her honour will be held on Thursday, heralding a series of funeral events to celebrate her impactful life and bid her farewell.
The wake will take place at Kay Galaxy Events Centre, opposite the Civil Defence Headquarters in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
The burial service follows on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at UMCA Headquarters Church, Lokogoma Phase Two, after which she will be laid to rest.
Mrs. Koleoso is being remembered not only for her contributions to public service and church ministry but also for her nurturing spirit, which touched the lives of many foster children, friends, and relatives. Her legacy of discipline, devotion, and love continues through the many lives she influenced.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mr. Ayo Koleoso; her son, Oluwaseun Koleoso; grandchildren; numerous foster children; as well as her siblings.
The life of Mrs. AKT Koleoso stands as a testimony of service, sacrifice, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
