Foreign news (Madina).

The Ulama Team of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has held a special prayer session in Madina for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other Nigerian leaders, seeking divine intervention for the nation’s security and development.

Sheikh Afini Yusuf AbduIbari, Chairman of the Council of Imams and Alfas, Eti-Osa, Lagos State, disclosed this while addressing journalists on Friday.

He said:“The purpose of this prayer is to seek Allah’s support for our leaders, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the commendable work he has been doing “Since assuming office, he has remained active and committed. “We must continue to support him with prayers.”

The Sheikh added that the session also focused on seeking Allah’s help in tackling the country’s security challenges and supporting the President’s team and other political office holders.

According to him, the ulama involved in the session were selected by NAHCON from various South-West states, including Lagos, Osun, and Oyo, to enlighten pilgrims during the Hajj.

“We gathered here as scholars from the South-West to pray together and carry out our responsibilities,” he added.

AbduIbari also commended NAHCON’s 2025 airlift operations, particularly the efforts of its Madina office in managing pilgrims’ arrival, hotel accommodations, and feeding arrangements.

“This year’s operation has improved significantly. Coordination is better than last year. Nearly 40,000 pilgrims have already passed through Madina on their way to Mecca,” he noted. “Flights are operating smoothly, and accommodation and feeding arrangements are excellent, with meals provided twice daily,”according to him.

In their roles, AbduIbari emphasized that the ulama have been actively educating pilgrims on the essence and procedures of Hajj.

“We’ve sensitized them on the purpose of their pilgrimage—this is a divine calling,” We’ve also completed the necessary visitations here in the Prophet’s Mosque and other significant holy sites in Madina,”he explained.

Also speaking, Sheikh Ridwan Mustapha Sunusi, stated that the prayers were meant to support the government’s ongoing efforts to transform the country.

“We recognize the government’s commitment, and as religious leaders, our contribution is to offer prayers for national progress,” he said.

The religious leader advised pilgrims to respect the laws of Saudi Arabia, Islamic principles, and Nigerian regulations throughout the pilgrimage.
