A violent armed assault struck the quiet community of Aboro in Kaduna State on Sunday night, leaving one resident dead, another injured, and two women kidnapped in what appears to be a targeted abduction.

According to local sources, the assailants stormed the community in Sanga Local Government Area around 7:36 p.m., heading straight to the residence of the District Head, Alhaji Shuaibu Suleiman Galadima. There, they forcefully abducted his wife, Harira, and daughter, Maryam.

Eyewitnesses say residents attempted to confront the gunmen and rescue the captives but were met with gunfire.

In the ensuing chaos, one Umar Abdullahi was fatally shot, and another resident, identified as Suleiman, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The attackers fled into the surrounding bushland with the hostages, eluding pursuit efforts by locals.

The deceased victim has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
