Benue Justice Commissioner Reaffirms Commitment Amid Media Criticism

The Benue State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Fidelis Mnyim, has assured the public of his continued dedication to delivering justice and strengthening public order, stating that recent media criticism will not derail his mission.

In a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Jacob Iormbagah, and made available to journalists in Makurdi, Mnyim described the recent allegations by the publisher of the Nigerian Concord newspaper as unfounded and unhelpful, urging for more constructive engagement.

He emphasized that integrity, transparency, and service to the people remain the guiding principles of his leadership, and he remains undeterred in the face of distractions.

“The commissioner is fully focused on his responsibilities and will not be drawn into unproductive controversies,” the statement read, calling on the media to prioritize professionalism and the public good.

The statement also highlighted several achievements under Mnyim’s stewardship, including:The successful return of trafficked Benue girls from Edo State and the Ivory Coast;The revitalization of the State Human Trafficking Taskforce.
Others area;The establishment of the State Mining Marshals to address illegal mining; andThe creation of key directorates such as Appeals, Judgment Debt Management, Legal Services in MDAs, and the Public Order Directorate.

The media aide also credited his principal for being instrumental to A flagship initiative, “Operation Save the Benue Child,”launched to promote civil order and protect children’s rights.
“These ongoing reforms reflect the commissioner’s unwavering commitment to justice, order, and the well-being of Benue residents,” he said .
