Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State,on Sunday ,joined thousands of Muslim faithful at Buhari Civic Centre Eid Prayer Ground, Lokoja , kogi state,to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

In his address, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated the unwavering support of Kogi citizens, which, he said, has enabled his administration to fulfill its campaign promises.

The governor who emphasized the lessons of Ramadan, urged residents to embrace compassion, love, peace, unity, and understanding and called on citizens to support his administration in building a prosperous and inclusive Kogi State.

“I am deeply grateful to God for the gift of life and the rare privilege to serve our people in Kogi State and the nation.
“I thank every one of you—men and women, brothers and sisters—for your support and belief in our aspirations. This support has helped us deliver on our promises and the mandate given to us by God Almighty,”he said.

Governor Ododo also urged the people to uphold the values of Ramadan beyond the fasting period, and stressed the need for continuous reflection on its teachings.

“I call on every son and daughter of our dear state to join hands with us in building a state we can all be proud of, both within Nigeria and beyond. “I sincerely appreciate you all, and I wish you Eid Mubarak.”he added

In his sermon, Imam Dhahir Hussain reminded worshippers of the importance of fearing Allah and living a life that pleases Him.

“I advise you and myself to fear Allah as He should be feared. “Fear the Day when you shall be returned to Him—the Day when those in the graves will be resurrected, and every man will face the consequences of his deeds.”the Imam warned

As Kogi State celebrates this joyous occasion, the Governor’s call for unity serves as a timely reminder of the collective responsibility to build a better future for all.
