Offa–Summit University, Offa, Kwara Sets,is set for a significant academic expansion following the recent approval by its Governing Council to introduce new programmes in the College of Law and the College of Health Sciences.
To mark this milestone, a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 1, 2025, in Lagos for two key institutions: the Olufemi Okunnu School of Law and International Jurisprudence and the Folawiyo International College of Humanities and Entrepreneurial Studies.
The event was graced by prominent personalities, including high-ranking officials of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and representatives from various communities nationwide.
With construction soon to commence—thanks to generous funding from Chief Tunde Fanimokun—the university’s Vice-Chancellor, alongside members of the management team, embarked on an inspection tour to identify suitable locations for the projects along with Dr. Tunji Olagunju Road (Irra Road), Offa.
The tour began at the Kola Balogun College of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Engineering, which is nearing completion.
Architect Owoniyi Kameel and Engineer Kamaldeen Sikirullahi led the Vice-Chancellor and his team through the site, with the project contractor assuring that work was progressing ahead of schedule.
The team also visited the university’s block-making industry, where Mr. Abeeb Isa and Mr. Isiak Mahmud detailed its operations. Additionally, they assessed the ongoing fencing project aimed at enhancing security and preventing unauthorized encroachment.
At the proposed sites for the new colleges, the Vice-Chancellor commended the university’s founding visionaries for selecting a strategic and well-positioned location.
He praised the vision of the university’s founding fathers for selecting such a strategic and well-positioned topography for the colleges. He reiterated the university’s commitment to ensuring that all new buildings adhere strictly to the institution’s Master Plan.

The final stop was the construction site of a major building, donated by philanthropist Dr. (Mrs.) Mosun Belo-Olusoga.
Engineer Adebayo Oluwasegun briefed the team, noting that the project was in its advanced stages and nearing completion.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were key university officials, including Mallam Mustapha Kadiri (Acting Registrar), Mallam Luquman Abdulraheem (Acting Bursar), Mr. Shamsudeen Olaniyan, and Mr. Bashir O. Atoyebi.
As Summit University embarks on this expansion, the institution reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and infrastructural growth, positioning itself as a leading center of learning in Nigeria.
