President Bola Tinubu has approved 11 provisionally licensed private universities in Nigeria.
The Special Adviser on Media & Public Communication to President, Sunday Dare, revealed this in a statement on his X handle on Monday.
He said the president granted the approval during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday.
Dare described the approval as an indication of the president’s commitment to expanding the frontiers of educational opportunities and infrastructure.
The newly approved private universities are as follows:
New City University, Aiyetoro, Ogun State
University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State
Eranova University, Mabushi, Abuja
Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun State
Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State
Southern Atlantic University, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State
Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State
Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State
Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Edo State
Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos State
Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State.
