British Embassy Delegation Visits Police CP in Kogi To Strengthen Security Collaboration

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, CP Miller G. Dantawaye,assured kogites of the Command’s commitment to strengthening security measures in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state,SP.William Ovie Aya on Monday and made available a copy to The Reporters on Tuesday.

He said his boss made the commitment on Tuesday in Lokoja when he received the British Embassy Delegation aimed to strengthen security collaboration.

According to Aya,the visit, led by led by Mr. Andrew Marshall, alongside Tope Aroso and Stanley Adeyemo, is aimed to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between the British Embassy and the Kogi State Police Command in tackling security challenges.

He said: “During the meeting, the British delegation discussed their operational approach, particularly in intelligence-led operations and counter-kidnapping strategies.

“Mr Andrew Marshall emphasized the need for synergy in combating security threats, including intelligence gathering to track criminal activities effectively.

“In response, CP Dantawaye acknowledged the importance of international cooperation and pledged to intensify efforts, including robust stop-and-search operations and strategic intelligence sharing.

“CP Dantawaye, who recently assumed office, highlighted the significance of collaboration with foreign partners, given their advanced security capabilities and resources.

“The CP further stated that any British team visiting Kogi State should notify his office to ensure adequate security coverage during their visit.

” He also encouraged the British Embassy to share any intelligence on criminal activities, even when not actively engaged in field operations, to facilitate swift and effective responses by the Law Enforcement Agents.

“The visit marks a step towards reinforcing Security Partnerships and improving crime-fighting strategies in Kogi State.”
