Yakubu Muhammad and Rabiu Suleiman, have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State for their alleged involvement in the criminal act of vandalizing a telecommunication mast.
In a statement released late Tuesday, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer for Kogi State, DSC Abdullahi Aliyu, confirmed the arrest, adding that the development followed a routine patrol and intelligence gathering.
According to him,the two suspects were apprehended in the Okumi (up Nataco) Area of Lokoja by the NSCDC’s Anti-Vandal Task Force.
He added that the suspects were caught red-handed in the act of vandalizing an Etisalat telecom antenna (mast).
Aliyu Said that under the leadership of Commandant Akinlade Esther, the NSCDC has vowed to apprehend any other suspects involved in the crime and bring them to justice.
He quoted the Commandant as stressing the importance of community cooperation, urging residents to provide timely and reliable information to help thwart criminal activities.
The Commandant warned individuals with criminal intentions to reconsider their actions, emphasizing that the NSCDC remains committed to safeguarding national assets and infrastructure.
Aliyu further said that once investigations are completed, the suspects would be charged in court.
