Available record shows that the Ajaokuta Steel Company, located in Kogi State, Nigeria, was established in 1979 with the aim of driving Nigeria’s industrialization through steel production.
By 1983, the project had achieved 84% completion, reaching 98% by 1994 but
despite these advancements, the plant remainsĀ uncomplicated due to various factors.
However, under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, there is a renewed commitment to completing the Steel.
The President has demonstrated political will by creating a ministry dedicated to steel development and production, focusing on the completion and operationalization of the steel plant.
