Daudu A.K. Bello Appointed as New Odeyani Anegbira of Lokoja

The Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, has appointed Daudu, Alhaji A.K. Bello, as the new Odeyani Anegbira of Lokoja in Kogi State.

This announcement was conveyed in a congratulatory message from the Kogi Central Think Tank Forum (KCTTF), signed by its president, Dr. Harun Opotu Yussuff.

In the statement, Dr. Yussuff wrote:
“We are pleased to formally announce the appointment of Daudu, Alhaji A.K. Bello as the Odeyani Anebira of Lokoja by HRM Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, today.

“We thank the Good Lord for this Royal Gesture. May HRH, Alhaji A.K. Bello live long to sustain the throne. Aameen.

“CONGRATULATIONS to him and the entire members of our highly esteemed KCTTF.

“LONG LIVE, THE ODEYANI ANEBIRA!
LONG LIVE, KCTTF!!
LONG LIVE, EBIRALAND!!!
LONG LIVE, KOGI STATE.”

In a telephone interview with our correspondent on Saturday, Daudu Bello expressed gratitude to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland for the confidence reposed in him to oversee the affairs of the Egbira community in Lokoja.

He also extended his appreciation to the Ohi of Adavi, other traditional rulers in Kogi Central Senatorial District, the Ebira Peoples Association (EPA), and other key stakeholders for their support in making his appointment a reality.

The new Odeyani Anegbira revealed that he has already met with members of the traditional council in Ebiraland to discuss his plans.

He urged those who contested the position with him to unite with him in promoting the welfare and peace of the Egbira community in Lokoja.

“In any contest, there must be a winner. “I appeal to my co-contestants to view my appointment not as a personal victory but as a victory for the Egbira community. Let us join hands for the peace and development of our people,”Daudu Bello said.

One time Director General(protocol) Government House, Lokoja and later retired from Radio kogi as Director of Programmes,Daudu Bello succeeds late Alhaji Otonoku Mayaki,who died about four months ago,aged 125,and reigned for more than 15 years.
