The Media Office of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, has refuted a report it said was published by an online platform, Daily Excessive, describing it as “mischievous” and “absolutely senseless.”

The report, the office further explained, falsely attributed a statement to Bello, claiming that he threatened to reveal how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President.

In a statement signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of the Yahaya Bello Media Office, the report should be dismissed and be regarded as a desperate attempt by “irresponsible politicians” to strain the relationship between the former governor and President Tinubu.

“For the record, the claim is not only misleading but also a laughable twist by detractors who have failed in their attempt to tarnish the image of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello,” the statement read.

The office noted that court proceedings involving the former governor have not advanced beyond the plea stage, a development Ozigi said further made the allegations baseless.

It emphasized that trial proceedings are public, monitored by journalists and stakeholders, adding that no informed Nigerian would take the blog’s report seriously.
