A coalition of distinguished figures from Kwara State, known as the Kwara Legends, has called for the formal documentation and institutionalization of the life and legacy of the late Dr. Abubakar Olushola Saraki, a prominent political leader and philanthropist.

The appeal was made during a symposium held in his honor over the weekend.

The event, themed “Sustaining the Saraki Legacy and Building Inclusive Leadership for the Future,” celebrated Saraki’s enduring influence on governance and public service in Nigeria.

Prof. Ali Ahmad, former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, praised Saraki as a unifying figure who prioritized humility over power. “He inspired countless individuals to strive for excellence and selfless service.

His values of compassion, progress, and community upliftment must continue to guide us,” Ahmad said.

Prof. Fatai Aremu of the University of Ilorin emphasized the importance of documenting Saraki’s contributions to guide future generations.

He urged political leaders to emulate Saraki’s selflessness and dedication to the welfare of the masses.

Dr. Bukola Saraki, former Senate President and son of the late political icon, stressed the need to safeguard his father’s legacy, noting that his impact on Nigeria’s political landscape remains indelible.

The Kwara Legends, under the leadership of Malam Sa’ad Lukman, are committed to promoting a progressive Kwara through principles of integrity, community service, and visionary leadership.
