The Kogi State branch of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Alumni Association has established a six-member committee to coordinate this year’s end-of-year gathering for its members.
This was disclosed in a letter signed by the branch secretary, Malam Yahaya Aminu Maihakuri, with a copy made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Sunday.
According to Maihakuri, the committee’s formation followed resolutions made during the association’s meeting on October 3, 2024, in Lokoja.
The committee is led by Alhaji Ibrahim Kenchi as chairman, with members: Alhaji Yahaya Adama, Hajiya Lamy Saretu Lawal, Ustaz Uthman Umar Ogbo, Hajiya Amina Ali, and Hajiya Fatima Binta Abubakar and a retired permanent secretary,Hajia Ramatu.
Their responsibilities include:
Deciding the date, time, and venue for the event;
Arranging the venue and coordinating event logistics;
Designing invitations and promoting the event;
Fundraising through member contributions to support the event;
Estimating costs and managing the event budget; and
Providing updates at each general association meeting.
Maihakuri noted that these members were selected based on their proven dedication and capability to ensure a successful gathering.
“It is expected that you will demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, patriotism, dedication, commitment, and teamwork as always,” he urged the committee members.
