By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja.

Ustaz Usman Tauhid. The Chief Imam of Jamatul Nasir Islam Mosque (JNI), Lokoja, Ustaz Usman Tauhid, has advised Muslim couples to practice mutual respect to ensure a peaceful home.

He gave this advice during his sermon at the Friday prayer in the mosque, highlighting that Islam values mutual respect and the rights of both husbands and wives.

He emphasized that adherence to these principles is essential for maintaining a stable family and society.

Ustaz Tauhid reminded Muslim husbands of their obligations, including providing food and clothing for their wives, and treating them with care and respect as commanded by Allah.

He stressed that wives also have the right to be included in discussions and decisions that benefit the family.

The cleric pointed out that love and kindness from husbands contribute to a peaceful family atmosphere, which in turn benefits the larger society.

He also reminded husbands to exercise patience and tolerance regarding strength and weakness of each party during conflicts, noting that women, being created from a bent rib, should be handled with care and understanding to ensure stability and peace in the family.

Addressing wives, Ustaz Tauhid encouraged them to show loyalty and respect to their husbands by seeking permission before making decisions. He also urged them to maintain their appearance, manage the household, and take care of the children to strengthen their husbands’ affection.

Another preacher, Mal. Ibadurahman, expressed concern about some husbands who act domineering at home, warning that such behavior could lead to raising problematic children.

The occasion also featured the wedding ceremony of Yusuf and Ummi, conducted by Ustaz Usman Tauhid, with notable attendees including.

Amb.Usman Bello, chairman of JNI in the state, prayed for the success of the marriage.

Alhaji Isah Adeboye, the secretary of JNI, the Publisher of The Reporters, Alhaji D.U Ahmed and Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu, a management consultant, were among personalities,in and outside Lokoja, that attended the two occasions.
