As the crescent of Muharram ushers in 1447 AH / Hijrah New Year, the Guild of Interfaith Media Practitioners Nigeria (GIMP‑Nigeria) extends heartfelt Salam and Eid Mubarak to the Muslim community, at home and across the globe.
In a news release, the Chairman of the Guild, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik said that this sacred milestone recalls the Prophet Muhammad’s journey of faith and determined migration from Makkah to Madinah — a timeless story of courage, conviction, and community-building.
He said: “On this auspicious occasion, we pray that Allah grants the Ummah guidance toward compassion, justice, and unity.

Calling on interfaith media colleagues to inspire collaborative efforts in peacebuilding and national dialogue, Abdulmalik urged them to renew their dedication to narratives that build bridges — not walls. “Let this Hijrah New Year be a fresh opportunity to amplify stories of harmony, resilience, and shared humanity in our diverse Nigerian landscape”, he emphasised.
