NSCDC Arrests 7 Suspected Hoodlums in Kwara for Theft, Public Disturbance.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC),Kwara State Command, has detained seven individuals suspected of involvement in theft and public disturbances in Ilorin.

The arrests came after a complaint from Olusegun Taiwo, a Sango area resident, who reported being attacked by the suspects while riding a motorcycle to work.

The hoodlums allegedly stole his bag, phones, and other valuables.

The incident occurred amidst a protest by commercial tricycle and motorcycle riders in Ilorin on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

The NSCDC Kwara State Command Public Relations Officer, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola, stated, “Following the report, our operatives arrested seven individuals involved in unlawful and violent behavior, as well as mischief during the protest by commercial tricycle and motorcycle riders.

“The suspects are believed to be part of a group that has been causing disturbances in the Sango area and exploiting the protest to commit theft and disrupt public order.

NSCDC Kwara State Commandant Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed assured the public of the Command’s dedication to maintaining peace in the state, noting that the suspects will face charges in court.
