Ododo Establishes New Media Centre to Boost Journalists’ Internet Access.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration has established a new Media Centre to provide journalists with real-time internet access and other resources, underscoring the Governor’s commitment to supporting the media.

The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mal. Ismaila Isah, stated this on Tuesday when he received in audience, Mr. Mike Abu, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Nigerian Post Newspaper at the centre.

He said the the Media Centre, located at the Government House, Lokoja, is designed to facilitate media professionals’ access to the latest digital tools.

Ismaila assured that the current administration in the state remains dedicated to prioritizing the welfare of Kogi State residents with a promise of ensuring further developments in human capital in the near future.

Earlier,Mr.Mike Abu had praised the governor for initiating and completing the project, describing it as a groundbreaking achievement and a significant milestone for the Governor’s administration.

He said his visit was part of the preparations for The Nigerian Post Newspaper’s upcoming Annual Public Lecture, marking the 33rd anniversary of the state’s creation.

Our correspondent reports that Kogi State was carved out of the kwara and Benue states on August 27,1991.

The 2024 lecture, themed “Sustaining Kogi’s Unbroken Unity – Prospects & Possibilities: This House Must Not Fall,” will be the 20th in the series.

Abu noted that the Media Centre’s advanced facilities would greatly enhance the real-time dissemination news about government activities to the people.

He also commended Governor Ododo for his proactive media engagement, his administration’s commitment to timely salary payments to workers, pensioners and effective leadership, adding these has elicited broad public acceptance of his administration.

Abu showered praises on the Special Adviser, for his professionalism and being approachable and assured him of the continued support of his paper in the dissemination of news about government activities, especially to grassroots.
