Planned protest: Police in Ogun Warn Youths Against Violence, Property Destruction.

The Police Command in Ogun State has cautioned youths in the state to avoid property destruction, violence, traffic obstruction, and incitement during the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1.

In a statement sent from Abeokuta to a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota, the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, SP SP,Omolola Odutola,emphasized that any group, association, or individual engaging in unlawful activities would be arrested.

“The police will not condone any form of violence within the state.

“We are sending signal of warning to youths and the general public to refrain from destruction of property, killing, obstruction of traffic, and inciting hateful acts,”she admonished.

The August 1 protest, organized under the hashtags #EndBadGovernance and #EndHardship, is set to address issues of economic hardship among others according its organizers.

Odutola assured that the police would provide adequate security for peaceful protesters and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property throughout the demonstration.
