The Executive Chairman, Kogi State Internal Revenue Service KGIRS addressing critical stakeholders in tax management.

The theme of the occasion is “Continuous Engagement for Effective Tax Administration.”

Alhaji Enehe told the gathering on Tuesday in Lokoja that, KGIRS was able to raise tax collection from over N5 billion annually in 2015 to N23 billion in 2024 annually.

He also revealed that 41 illegal tax collectors had been arrested, adding that they are being made to face Justice to deter others in their shoe.

According to the executive chairman,the state government has been able to utilize the tax payers’money to develop the state , in terms of physical infrastructure, human development and bring dividends of democracy to the people.

During question and answer session, the executive chairman urged tax prayers to show concern on how government is using their money to develop the state to curb corruption.
Highlights at the occasion include recognition given to outstanding tax payers including Dangote group of company, National Inland Water Ways,NIWA, Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN, United Bank of Africa, Zenith Bank,UBA, Access Bank,NNPC gas company,Egoja gas company among others for being good corporate citizens of kogi state.

There was a slide where KGIRS showed the gathering pictures of various physical infrastructure the state government has used the tax payers’ money to execute.

Our correspondent reports that the occasion provided the critical Stakeholders in tax administration to rub minds on the way forward to ensure tax administration of mutual benefit to all and sundry in the state.
