The Catholic Priest of St. Augustine Catholic Church Ombi 1 in the Diocese of Lafia, Nasarawa state, Rev. Fr. George Shenge, on Sunday ,called on Nigerians to go back to God in ernest prayers,.
The religious leader also urged the people to renew their vows to God for the promotion of peaceful coexistence, if Nigeria must be healed of the crises.
The cleric also urged the citizens to have the fear of God in their daily dealing endeavours, respect the constituted authority, shun divisive tendencies and ensure that issues capable of encouraging and promoting political and religious crisis in Nigeria are discouraged.
Rev. Father Shenge, who made the call in his homily in Lafia, noted that the Nigerians have been experiencing hardship, insecurity and other forms of crimes because citizens have gone away from the vows they made to God and forgot their commitment to Him and went contrary to their promises.

Rev.Fr. Shenge explained that every Nigerian, irrespective of his or her religious beliefs, should turn to God in truth and spirit,in the face of the economic, social and security challenges confronting the nation for sustainable solutions.
He explained that if leaders and followers would do things that would please God, the situation of the country would be changed for better..
He added that God is the only solution to the country’s problems, adding that it is not magic, but that people should do the right things at all times.
The Catholic priest also called on Nigerians not to give up in the face of the daunting hardship but have faith in God who is capable of turning things around for good at whatever point.
“Go to God in prayers, even if it is admission that you are looking for over the years or job you are seeking or even business that is not doing well, just trust in God and see his wanders in your life,” he further advised.
While reminding Christians that the Bible says that sin against persons would be forgiven, but the sin against the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven, he advised Christians to desist from making blasphemous statements such as ‘my situation is too bad as such I will not pray again to avoid the hanger of God’.
The Rev father, who took his readings from Acts of Apostles 2:1-11, Galatians 5: 16-25 and John 15:26-27 and 16:13-15 respectively.added that there would be light after the dark tunnel.
