Author Recommends ADR To Prevent Violence, Armed Conflict in Global Community.

The need to adopt Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR, as a mechanism in global community to prevent violence and armed conflict, has been emphasised.

This is part of recommendations in a Book, entitled, Philosophy of War and Peace Under Islamic Law, written by Dr Nuraen Taiwo Dindi, Head of Public and International Law Department, Faculty of Law, Baze University, Abuja.

The ADR mechanism, according to him ,the book,just presented to the public, will engender peace and harmonious living among communities in the world.

Dr. Dindi explained to Newsmen, after unveiling the book, that it was to let the world know about the concept of war and Peace from the Islamic Law perspectives.
“That the singular purpose of war in Islam is to protect individuals and the religion itself.

“if nobody is aggressive against the Muslim nations, there will be no war, there will be peace all around”.

Dr.Dindi pointed out that the book recommended the way forward and how to achieve peace across the world.

Our correspondent reports that some of the topics treated in the 422- page book include; the impact of war on peace and security; international treaties and rules of conduct in armed conflict and treatment of war prisoners among others.

The high point of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Book and Presentation by the Chief launcher, Alhaji Abubakar Isa, represented by Alhaji Ibrahim.

Other Book launchers are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa, Traditional Rulers and Various Associations.

Dignitaries from the Academia, Military, Diplomats, Civil Society Organisations and Journalists graced the event at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.
