Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state.
The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule ,on Friday, tasked media practitioners in the state to assist his administration to develop Nasarawa State of his dream.

He said they could do this by publicizing the activities and policies of the state government and lifting the status of state, especially its potential to the globally.

Sule gave the task through his Senior Special Assistant on public Affairs and publicity, Comrade Peter Ahemba who visited the Correspondents’Chapel of NUJ, in Lafia,in continuation of the tour of media houses in the state.

The governor said the task became necessary, adding that the state was in dire need of adequate publicity to develop and expose its potential begging for global attention.

Sule therefore solicited more cooperation from members of the Correspondents’ Chapel ,adding that that his administration could not do it alone without them in its desire to develop the state and make life more meaningful for the people of the state.

He, however , appreciated the Correspondents’Chapel members for their contributions towards his government, pointing out that said such collaborations became necessary in order to publicize the polices and programmes of his administration.

“We can not succeed without the involving the media. We are partners in the governance of the state, therefore, there is the need for the sustained collaboration”.

Governor, Sule who promised to create conducive environment for the media to discharge their responsibilities, advised the media practitioners to be more professional in the discharge of their responsibilities.

According to him, such step would boost efforts of the Ahmed Bole Tinubu-led administration and the various governors to ease the hardship being experienced in the country.

Responding, Chairman of the Correspondent Chapel, Isaac Ukpoju, thanked the governor for recognizing the role of the media in shaping the society

Ukpoju, who noted the harsh environment journalists are made to pass through in discharging their statutory function, pledged the Chapel’s readiness, at all time ,to contribute their quarter for the success of the administration in the state.

“Governor Sule’ s administration has enjoyed more media contributions than any other states in recent time. What we need is more friendly and more conducive environment for our members to discharge their statutory function in the state”.

“Members of the Correspondents’ Chapel will continue to abide by their ethical practice , we promise to support the present administration in the area of information dissemination.

“We want the government to also reciprocate the gesture in order to strengthen the relationship between the Chapel and the state government,”he also urged.
