SAD:Gas explosion kills 2,destroys houses in Lagos

A gas explosion which happened at a gas retail shop in Lagos has killed at least,2 persons and destroyed some houses.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state, SP Benjamin Hundey, through his official X handle, on Wednesday disclosed that three others sustained severe injuries in the sad event.

The police image maker added that the explosion, which occurred on Tuesday, at the Abule Pan, Lekki,Epe Expressway in the Ibeju Lekki area also destroyed four shops.

He recalled similar incident in the state a before the latest fatal incident.
“Just last week, we recorded another gas explosion at a gas retail shop, this time in Ibeju-Lekki.

“Sadly, two persons died, three persons sustained injuries and four shops got razed.

He advised members of the public to be conscious of their safety and prevent avoidable deaths.

‘Let us be safety-conscious at all times,” Hundeyin posted.

TheNewsZenith also reports that the incident happened barely one week after a similar incident occurred in Ajegunle area, killing 22 people.

Also in Abeokuta, Ogun State, one person died and two others sustained injuries in a gas tanker explosion at Ita-Oshin area of the town, on April 28.
