A former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Chief Patrick Ogbu, has offered himself for the chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State.
The PDP would in August, this year elect a new state chairman to man the affairs of the party in Benue.
Ogbu therefore at a formal declaration ceremony of his intent to occupy the position, at the weekend in Makurdi, said that he was most competent for the job, having been in the party and served its interest variously since inception in 1998.
“I stand before you humbly declaring my candidacy for the chairmanship position of our great party (PDP). With the utmost conviction, I firmly believe that together we can achieve remarkable progress and prosperity for our beloved state. It is in this spirit that I offer myself as a capable and committed leader.
“Now, more than ever, our party needs strong and capable leadership to navigate the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie before us. I possess the necessary qualities to galvanise our party, combining my experience, expertise and unyielding dedication. Together, we can mobilise, inspire and effect positive change within our ranks and beyond,” he said.
The former NTA boss urged those present – party faithfuls and friends – to support his aspiration to become a reality which would in turn usher in the next chapter of a beautiful story for the PDP in Benue state.
Reacting to his Ogbu’s declaration, speaker after speaker, including an ex-governorship aspirant under the PDP in the state, Julius Atorough, hailed the glowing attributes of the ex-NTA boss whom they describe as a reliable and experienced person for the party’s chairmanship.
