Supreme court verdict: Nasarawa speaker preaches against ethnic, religious, political differences.

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Danladi Jatau, on Monday, preached against ethnic, religious and political differences with a call for harmonization amongst the citizens of the state.
This is even as the Speaker has assured that the 7th Assembly, under his leadership, would effective synergize with the executive arm of government and enact laws that would promote good governance in the State.

The Speaker made the appeal while briefing journalists in Lafia on Monday about the outcome of the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed Governor Abdullahi Sule as the duly elected Governor of the State.

Hon. Jatau , who said that the 7th Assembly under his watch would not relent in enacting laws that would promote peace, unity, progress and development of the State, noted that election had come and gone, legal battle has come and gone, “now it is time for governance”..

“I have been saying, always, that for the State to move forward, the three arms of government must synergize and work together for peace, unity and development of our State”.

” I want to appreciate God for where we are today and the victory He gave us. I want to thank the people of the State for their support and understanding throughout the period.The victory of His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule at the Supreme Court is a victory for Nasarawa State

” The Supreme Court judgement was an affirmation of the mandate the people of the State freely gave Gov. Sule on March 18th Governorship election

” I want to call on all citizens of the State to accept the victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule in good faith, as leadership comes from God. It is time for APC and Gov. Sule to put behind them and settle down, especially with the passion and zeal so far shown by the governor to development the state”

“Gov. Abdullahi Sule needs every ones’s support and this is the reason the Seventh Assembly, under my headship, will give Gov. Sule all the necessary support to succeed”.

“Under my leadership,I will make sure that we support him fully and enact laws that will promote good governance in the State. We have been working together since I emerged as Speaker and by God’s grace, I will continue to promote that unity and togetherness, having a harmounous House to Fas-Track the needed peaceful environment”.

While assuring of his commitment to promote unity and good working relationship among members of the 7th Assembly, the Speaker urged the people of the State to shun ethnic and religious politics for peace, unity and development to continue to thrive.

” We need each other as God did not made a mistake for creating us from different tribes and religions, no single tribe or religion can do it alone, we all need each other. Nasarawa State is blessed, we must come together, shun ethnic and religious politics to move the State forward,” the speaker further advised.
