LAFIA– THE opposition People’s Democratic party PDP in Nasarawa state has implored all citizens, particularly its members to put behind them, the agony and trauma arising from the supreme court judgement and forge peace, unity and development of the state.
The party has also declared that it had given up regarding the judgement of the supreme court, “because they have been asked to do so by the supreme court through it’s verdict.”
The Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Francis Orogu, who stated this on Sunday in Lafia, asked the citizens to ignore what had happened but stressed that the residents must continue to live in peace and allow God take His position in the state.
He, however, appealed to the women to remain calm and asked other NGO’S who have something to do with any political party to look into their matter, adding that “women are been oppressed, female rights abused and widows mis handled for political interest among others.
The chairman said:”At this point, I want to make it clear that not all these women are members of PDP, some of them are even members of the ruling party APC. They decide to do want they are doing because that is what they believe is right or what they believe should have happened.

“But today, they are been massacred some of them in the hospital, some of them in the prison. Mothers, widows in a state like Nassarawa state highly flooded by religious leaders.
“We have given up because the supreme court said we should give up.
“The women have been conducting their prayers at the party secretariat since March last year, subjecting themselves to self imprisonment by sleeping outside, what kind of improvement would somebody subject these women to that will be greater than what they have gone through for nine months”.

“These women were always praying to God in a manner that they subjected themselves to imprisonment, sleeping outside the secretariat of the party for nine months, beaten by mosquitoes and stung by ants and other things.
” I am sure the women will encourage themselves to continue praying against all kinds of impunity and oppressions and you know this are women whether you like it or not, they have a special place in the heart of God, especially widows.
