Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, says violent extremism in some parts of the country is on a decline.
Ribadu disclosed this at the ongoing 19th All Nigeria Editors Conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, While speaking on ” Oil Theft, Illegal Bunkering, Pipeline Vandalism: Impact on Nigerian Economy”.
He admitted that Nigeria is going through tough time, but assured that the situation will not be for too long, as the Tinubu led administration is working to restore peace and order in the country.
“Work is ongoing, the government is adopting work more and talk less to address the insecurity challenges headlong”, Ribadu added.
According to him, the country used to record over One thousand deaths on a daily basis due to criminal activities, but within five months in the saddle, there is a sharp drop to about 100 cases. Also in South East, 40 Police stations were attacked during the past administration, but today, none is recorded.
Similarly, crude oil production has increased to 1.7 million barrels per day, with the hope of hitting 2million barrels per day by next year”
Ribadu described the Tinubu led administration as the most transparent government since the return of democracy because it has been doing things in an open and transparent manner.
On the Economic policies taken by the President so far, the National Security Adviser stated, “they were bitter pills to take for the survival of Nigeria”.
Ribadu appealed for support from Editors, saying Nigeria is going through tough time, but will not be for too long, let’s do it together, to make the country great.
