The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Kogi State Governorship Election, DIG Habu Sani, has ordered that on no account should any Security Personnel attached to VIPs, Political and Public Officers or any personality across the State will be allowed to move or their Principals during the period of restrictions of vehicular movement.
The DIG gave the order in a statement signed by SP William Aya in Lokoja on Friday and a copy to The Reporters.
Sani further warned that any Officer caught violating this order would be arrested and dealt with accordingly.
The DIG appealed to VIPs, Political and Public Officers to note this order so as to avoid any embarrassment that might befall them.
He said that the Police and other Security Agencies would not allow any security breach during the period of the Election.
Findings by our correspondent on Saturday indicate that some voters have going to their polling units in Lokoja,the state capital and its environs for accreditation scheduled for 8 a.m.
The major streets in the capital were devoid of the usual vehicular and human movement in compliance to the restriction order by the police,except those on essential duties in connection with the exercise.
