NUJ VON Chapel Congratulates New DG,urges VON Reposition For Optimal Performance.

The NUJ VON chapel Abuja has heartily congratulated the new Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Ndace, urging him to reposition it for optimum service delivery.
The Chairman, Yahya Ndambabo, gave the charge in a congratulatory message to the new Director General in Abuja.
“We urge him to use his wealth of experience in journalism to transform the organization for wider international coverages”, Ndambabo advised.
He also use the opportunity to ask the new DG to prioritize the welfare of staff, which was relegated by the former DG , Osita Okechukwu.
“As a thorough bred journalist, you already know the peculiar challenges of practicing journalists in Nigeria. It is therefore our hope that you will set a welfare standard in VON that other Media Stations in Nigeria will emulate”, he noted.
Yahaya Ndambabo stated that the manpower level in VON at the moment is very high with high calibre and experienced staff to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu administration.
“VON has a very committed and professional workforce to help in delivering on its mandate.
“Staff Welfare and Operational matters should be accorded priority”
“We wish the new Director General a fruitful tenure and the Courage to pilot the affairs of Nigeria’s external broadcast station”, Ndambabo concluded.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the appointment of Mr. Jibrin Baba Ndace as the new Chief Executive Officer of Voice of Nigeria (VON), to replace Mr. Osita Okechukwu, who Headed the Corporation in the last seven years.
The President also re-appointed the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos for a fresh term in office.
Six others were equally appointed as the new Chief Executive Officers for Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
They are Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu, as Director-General / CEO National Orientation Agency (NOA); Dr. Muhammed Bulama to head Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN); Mr. Charles Ebuebu, Director-General / CEO, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Dr. Lekan Fadolapo as Director-General / CEO, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); Mr. Ali Muhammed Ali, Managing Director / CEO, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Mr. Dili Ezughah, Executive Secretary / CEO, Nigerian Press Council (NPC).
The President tasked the newly entrusted leadership in Information and National Orientation sub-sectors to innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon, through the effective reform of these key institutions of government, which function to unify the Nigerian people, reshape mindsets, and showcase Nigeria to the rest of the world.
Our Correspondent reports that the newly appointed Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Jubrin Baba Ndace, is an award-winning Journalist, who served as Chief Press Secretary to Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, Between 2015-2019.
